~Sunday School~
The Sunday
School at the Christian Faith Church has kicked off another fun-filled
opening. The Sunday School and invited friends took a trip to Coppal
House Farm in Lee, NH, to fellowship with a picnic together and explore
and find their way through a corn maze of a wolf howling at the moon. In
order to find their way out the participants had to answer various
questions about wolves and the moon. The correct answer directed them to
the next clue. It was a lot of fun for everyone.
New classes
have begun with a few new changes. New teachers have taken over various
classes. Mrs. Collinge is now teaching the upper elementary students and
Mr. Rumford is now teaching the middle school aged children. Pastor
Collinge moved from the Middle School to the adult class. We are all
excited to be involved in learning more about God’s word.
Mrs.
Belanger's lower elementary class has been working hard finding their
scripture lessons. It is becoming easier every week! The lessons have
been about Abram and Sarai and how God wanted them to be known as
Abraham and Sarah. Abraham means "father of many" and Sarah means
"princess". Their son, Isaac, which means "he laughs", probably because
Abraham and Sarah laughed when God told them they were going to have
their first and only son. Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90!
Following the lessons there is a puzzle work sheet and a craft for the
season or more recently the holiday.
Mrs.
Collinge's upper elementary class did a special Thanksgiving lesson
showing the love of Christ by making a special Thanksgiving craft and
gifting one to everyone in the congregation. They were YUMMY! For
December they will do a special craft and lessons about God's gift to
us...his only Son.
Mrs. Casey's
middle school class is studying the women of the bible. So far they
have studied Ruth. She was the great-grand mother of David. They
studied Elisabeth who was John the Baptist’s mother. Now they are
studying Mary the Mother of Jesus.
Mrs. Hayden's high school class is doing the "Bruce Almighty" bible
study. They watch some of the movie and then discuss the biblical
themes in the movie and compare them to the bible. The themes so far
have been justice and suffering.
The adult Sunday school started Dr David Jeremiah's study on “Captured
by Grace”. This study goes line by line through John Newton’s famous
hymn “Amazing Grace”. There have been many lively discussions heard
from the back room.
