~Sunday School~
The Sunday School at the Christian Faith
Church has kicked off another fun-filled opening. The Sunday School and
invited friends took a trip to Coppal House Farm in Lee, NH, to
fellowship with a picnic together and explore and find their way through
a corn maze of a wolf howling at the moon. In order to find their way
out the participants had to answer various questions about wolves and
the moon. The correct answer directed them to the next clue. It was a
lot of fun for everyone.
New classes have begun with a few new
changes. New teachers have taken over various classes. Mrs. Collinge
is now teaching the upper elementary students and Mr. Rumford is now
teaching the middle school aged children. Pastor Collinge moved from
the Middle School to the adult class. We are all excited to be involved
in learning more about God’s word.
Mrs. Casey’s
early elementary class is studying about the teachings of Jesus. Focus
will be on the lessons that Jesus taught, for example, Jesus feeds the
five thousand, Jesus heals the lame, etc… Weekly scripture verses will
be made into a memory verse book.
Mrs. Collinge’s
later elementary class started the year with a quiz. It was called
getting to know you. The children answered questions about
themselves so that Mrs. Collinge would know a little bit about them
since it is a new class with a new teacher. During the season before
the holidays, we will be focusing on prayer and starting prayer
journals. We will also be doing some special crafts for Thanksgiving
and Christmas. Lessons will be about our favorite stories from the
bible and how we can use those very lessons today.
Mr. Rumford’s
middle school class is working on a series entitled, “Don’t Buy the
Lie.” This series talks about how young people are targeted by various
groups and the media with magic, mysticism, horoscopes, etc.., as
alternatives to the Word.
Mrs. Hayden’s
high school students are working on a bible study called, “Velocity”. by
Pastor Doug Fields. It is a series of DVD’s that deal with issues that
today’s teens face every day. It brings biblical solutions to their
fast paced world. The class will be working on a mission’s project.
They will be raising money through various activities through out the
year to support a Christian orphanage in Africa.
Pastor Collinge’s
adult class (we are all God’s children) is going back to the basics. It
is so important to stay on a firm foundation of the teachings of
Christ. So, the adult class will be doing a study on “The Basics of the
Christian Life”, by Dr. David Jeremiah. “Salvation”, “Prayer”, and
“Evangelism” are just some of the topics that we will be studying.
